Labor Day has come and gone, and so marks the unofficial beginning of Fall, considered by many to be the best time of the year in the Lowcountry. The temperatures begin to drop, but it's still warm enough for the beach. The summer tourists have gone home. And special events of all kinds fill the calendar, especially on Daniel Island. Ranging from family-friendly festivals, music concerts to shopping extravaganzas and low-key wine tastings, this Fall brings a plethora of fun options to residents and visitors to Daniel Island.
Indigo Girls
Sept. 26
This Grammy-award winning duo is coming to the Family Circle Veranda Stage in support of their tenth studio album, “Poseidon and the Bitter Bug”. This will be the their first appearance at the Family Circle Tennis Center.
Park Day on Daniel Island
Oct. 10
Now in it's ninth year, this annual Fall festival showcases Daniel Island's community spirit. More than a dozen non-profit organizations benefit from this day of food, family activities, live music and more on the banks of the Wando River.
Zac Brown Band
Oct. 10
This rising country star is bringing his “Breaking Southern Ground Tour” to Family Circle Stadium.
Harvest Tour of Homes
Oct. 17
This Daniel Island tour will feature four homes with island florists and decorators adding their custom accents to the interiors, as well as a local author present in each home for a book signing.
Komen Charleston Race for the Cure
Oct. 17
This 5K race through Daniel Island's downtown, trails and neighborhoods supports the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation's mission of eradicating breast cancer through advancing research, education, screening and treatment. The race includes both a 5K Co-ed Run/Walk and a 1-Mile Family Fun Run/Walk.
6th Annual Pumpkin Walk & Drum Circle
Oct. 24
Each year, island residents gather together to carve pumpkins, eat and drink, listen to music and celebrate the fall season.
Charleston Oktoberfest
Oct. 25
This Fall favorite features Oompah music and dancing, delicious bratwurst and knockwurst, and plenty of ice-cold German beer at Blackbaud Stadium.
Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island
Oct. 22-25
The Daniel Island Club's Ralston Creek course is the site of this season-ending event for the PGA Tour's Nationwide Tour. The event concludes the season-long competition to identify the 25 players who will earn PGA Tour cards for the following season.
Laura Albert's “Wine by the Class”
Oct. 29 and Nov. 19
The knowledgeable staff at Laura Albert's will be wining and dining guests as they discuss the wines and food prepared for tasting.
Daniel Island Holiday Festival
Dec. 5
The Daniel Island Holiday Festival will feature live entertainment, great food and a diverse selection of crafts and other gifts available for purchase, as well as tree lighting ceremony.
